Donate Your Books

Your book donation makes free thought and English that much more accessible — not to mention, you're helping keep the store open!

Donate your books to sustain our mission. UTVBKS seeks books from various genres to supplement our shelves. Currently, the store is expanding its Non-Fiction book selection including collections in the following areas: Art, Art Criticism and History, Architecture, Design, Autobiography, Biography, Children’s, History, Philosophy, Psychology, and Young Adult.

UTVBKS currently accepts donations from Mexico, Canada, and the United States and can arrange shipping and transportation for large donations. It reserves to not accept donations of certain books.

UTVBKS will most likely not accept the following books: water-damaged or moldy books, Textbooks, Guidebooks that do not relate to Mexico or are older than 2020.

To help us evaluate your collection, please send an email to [email protected] with the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Your location (city and state/province)
  • A photo of the books with the spines clearly visible. If possible, please include all of the books in a single photo.

Once we receive this information, we'll review your collection and get back to you to discuss the next steps.

UTVBKS will most likely not buy nor exchange the following books and genres: water-damaged or moldy books, Textbooks, Self-help, Mysteries, American Politics, Guidebooks that do not relate to Mexico or are older than 2020, large art books (unless rare and in good condition), books older than 1950 (unless rare and in good condition), Romance, or Business.

Your Left-Over Books

UTVBKS serves as a public distribution point for donation of books in English it cannot sell. Any books not accepted by the store for sale are given free to the public.

Do you have additional questions? Please contact [email protected].

Sell Your Books - Currently on hold through 2026 due to store expansion (for Latin American Authors in English, rare books or collections, we may make an exception)

Selling your books — especially those you purchased from UTVBKS — allows the store to keep a diverse and enticing stock for our readers!

We buy books everyday in the store. Unless you have a large number of books, we would appreciate you making an appointment by emailing [email protected]. For exceptional quantities of books, we can arrange a visit to assess your books for sale or donation. Please note, UTVBKS reserves the right to not purchase books.
