Mission

To establish: an embassy for the soul of the English-speaking world – its literature – in Mexico; an educational resource for Chilangos learning English and eager to explore the artistic reach of the language; a web-free, Kindle-less island of analog time in the digital sea; a community center for Commonwealth and American expatriates in the most exciting, vibrant and accessible city on Earth; an institution that will pay tribute to that city’s magnificence with the best our native culture has to offer

4th of July Sale! 50% off History & Non-Fiction

First of all, want to share the news that our forthcoming move and expansion has been further set back by the city’s slide from green to yellow semáforo. We can’t move if we can’t get into any of the places we’d consider moving to. So our hours are going to be just Saturdays and Sundays, 12 to 6, for a good, long while.

This forthcoming weekend we’re offering a special treat for Independence Day (U.S.): 50% off on all our history and non-fiction selections. Come by – and bring titles you’re ready to trade for an unprecedentedly high amount of credit, given that we still can’t hit our stateside library sales, which are scheduled to open in the fall.

There is likely to be some kind of food and drink offered in the club downstairs, though that’s none of our business and outside of our control. Full PPE, and no fireworks inside the building, please.

See you here!
